These are our best picks for 5G phones under ₹15,000 right now: the Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G if you want the longest software support, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G for the biggest battery and screen at the lowest launch price, the Moto G37 for the brightest, toughest screen and stereo speakers, and the Ai+ Nova 2 Neo 5G if you want 128GB of storage at the lowest price.
This is a research-based shortlist, not a hands-on test. Specifications come from launch reports and spec databases linked below, and the picks reflect our editorial judgement of the trade-offs for typical Indian buyers.
Set your expectations first. At this budget in late 2026, every good 5G phone has an HD+ (720p) LCD screen, an entry-level chip and a fairly basic camera. Prices have also moved up this year: the Redmi A7 Pro 5G launched at ₹11,499, but when Deals Basket checked Flipkart on 26 October 2026, the same 4GB + 64GB variant was ₹14,395. So the real question at ₹15,000 is not "which phone is fastest" but "which compromise suits you": updates, battery, screen or storage.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G: best for long software support
Samsung launched the Galaxy M17e 5G in India on 17 March 2026 in 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB versions, sold on Amazon, Samsung.com and in stores (FoneArena). Reports differ on the exact launch price after offers, so check the current price before you buy.
Why consider it: Samsung promises six OS upgrades and six years of security updates, which is unusual at any budget and far ahead of most phones here. It runs One UI 8 on Android 16, uses a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 with 128GB storage as standard, and pairs a 6,000mAh battery with 25W charging, the fastest on this list. You also get a 50MP main camera, a 2MP depth camera, an 8MP selfie camera and an IP54 rating (SamMobile).
Drawback: the 6.7-inch screen is a 120Hz HD+ LCD, so text is less sharp than on Full HD phones, and the second rear camera is only a depth sensor, so there is no ultra-wide. IP54 means splash resistance, not water resistance.
Skip it if: you want the biggest battery for the money, or you need stronger dust and water protection.
Redmi A7 Pro 5G: best big screen and battery
The Redmi A7 Pro 5G launched on 13 April 2026 at ₹11,499 for 4GB + 64GB and ₹12,499 for 4GB + 128GB, on Flipkart and Xiaomi's store (ETV Bharat).
Why consider it: it has the largest screen here, a 6.9-inch 120Hz HD+ LCD rated up to 800 nits, and a 6,300mAh battery. Xiaomi promises four Android upgrades and six years of security updates, second only to Samsung on this list. It runs HyperOS 3 on Android 16 and includes Circle to Search and Gemini (Smartprix).
Drawback: the Unisoc T8300 is an entry-level chip, so expect slower app loading and only light gaming. Charging is a slow 15W, the single 32MP rear camera is basic, and IP52 offers only light splash protection. Its selling price has also climbed well above launch: track the Redmi A7 Pro 5G deal page and compare with the Samsung before you pay.
Skip it if: you charge only once in a while and want it done quickly, or you take a lot of photos.
Moto G37: best screen and build
Motorola launched the Moto G37 in India on 19 May 2026 at ₹13,999 for its only 4GB + 64GB version, on Flipkart, Motorola.in and in stores (91mobiles).
Why consider it: the 6.6-inch 120Hz HD+ LCD reaches up to 1,050 nits in high-brightness mode, the brightest here, so it is easier to read outdoors. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, rated IP64 and certified to MIL-STD-810H, and it has stereo speakers. It uses a MediaTek Dimensity 6400, a 50MP main camera and an 8MP selfie camera, with a 5,200mAh battery and 20W charging. Storage expands with a microSD card up to 1TB (GSMArena).
Drawback: Motorola promises only one Android upgrade (to Android 17) and three years of security patches, the shortest support on this list. The 64GB of storage fills quickly, and the battery is the smallest here.
Skip it if: you keep phones for four years or more. If you want a bigger battery, the Moto G37 Power adds a 7,000mAh battery and 30W charging, but it launched at ₹15,999, just above this budget.
Ai+ Nova 2 Neo 5G: best storage for the price
The Ai+ Nova 2 Neo 5G launched in June 2026 at ₹12,999 for 4GB + 128GB and ₹13,999 for 6GB + 128GB, on Flipkart and in select stores (91mobiles). When Deals Basket checked Flipkart on 25 October 2026, the 4GB + 128GB Blue model was ₹13,999 on its deal page.
Why consider it: you get 128GB of storage, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300, a 6.74-inch 120Hz HD+ LCD and a 6,000mAh battery. The rear camera uses a 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor, and the phone is rated IP65 for dust and splash resistance, the best rating here. It runs Android 16 with the brand's own NxtQuantum interface (FoneArena; Smartprix).
Drawback: Ai+ is a much newer brand than the others here, so check service centre options near you, and we could not find a published software update promise for this model. The screen peaks at about 600 nits, the dimmest here, and charging is 18W.
Skip it if: long-term updates or a well-known brand matter more to you than storage.
How to choose between them
- You keep a phone for five years or more: the Galaxy M17e 5G has the longest promised support. The Redmi A7 Pro 5G is next.
- Battery and a big screen for videos: the Redmi A7 Pro 5G, if its current price is still well under ₹15,000.
- You use your phone outdoors a lot or are hard on phones: the Moto G37, with the brightest screen, IP64 and Gorilla Glass 7i.
- You store lots of photos and WhatsApp videos: the Ai+ Nova 2 Neo 5G or the Galaxy M17e 5G, which start with 128GB. A 64GB phone can fill up within a year once apps and updates are installed.
- You can stretch your budget: our best phone picks around ₹20,000 cover phones with sharper screens and faster chips.

How to check the real price
Budget phone prices change often, and the same phone can cost different amounts in different colours or storage versions. Before you buy:
- Match the exact RAM and storage. A 4GB + 64GB listing can look like a bargain next to a 4GB + 128GB one.
- Look at the price without bank offers first. Card discounts and exchange bonuses only help if you have that card or an old phone to trade in.
- Check the price history. Use our price tracker to see how a listing's price has moved, and read how to check whether a Flipkart sale price is real.
- Check the seller and warranty. Buy from the brand's authorised sellers so the official warranty applies.
Frequently asked questions
Which phone under ₹15,000 gets the longest updates?
The Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G. Samsung promises six OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The Redmi A7 Pro 5G is next, with four Android upgrades and six years of security updates.
Can I get an AMOLED or Full HD phone under ₹15,000?
Not among the current 5G models we shortlisted. All four use HD+ LCD screens. For AMOLED you usually need to spend closer to ₹20,000, or look at older models that may be harder to find in stock.
Is 64GB storage enough?
For light use it can work, especially with a microSD card, but apps, photos and system updates fill 64GB quickly. If you can, choose a 128GB version.
Are these phones good for gaming?
They handle casual games, but none is built for heavy gaming. The chips here are entry-level, and the screens are HD+, so if gaming matters, raise your budget.
